A Dupe For Mac's Satin Taupe Eyeshadow (for only £1.99)

For quality, pigmentation & colour variety, Mac is one of my favourite places to shop for eyeshadows - who knew there could be so many different brown and gold shades? Their only downfall is on some of the products including the single pot eyeshadows & refill eyeshadows can be pretty pricey and although they last a long time, if you want to buy a few shades, you can easily spend about a hundred pounds and come out with a palette and about 8 or 9 eyeshadows. One of my all time favourite shades is Satin Taupe - if you don't own it, you need to pop into Mac and swatch it. It's a gorgeous deep taupe brown with silver shimmer that blends into this lovely reflective shadow - this along with Jest was one of my first shadows from Mac. So this being a staple in my makeup bag and being quite expensive, I've been on the hunt for a drugstore dupe with similar quality & I've found an almost perfect match - Natural Collection's Single Eyeshadow in Asteroid.

This dupe is the swatch in the picture on the left and Satin Taupe is on the right - you can see that with blending you can create the same look. When inspecting Asteroid, the shimmer flecks are golden compared to Satin Taupe's silver shimmer which is the thing that makes it look different but guess how much it costs? £1.99. The packaging of Natural Collection's range is simple yet sturdy and the brand as a whole is very affordable, I think that the majority of the whole range is under £5. The price point of this brand may make you think the quality isn't great but each product is dermalogically tested & fragrance-free. The pigmentation of this eyeshadow is amazing, long-lasting & easy to blend.

I'm over the moon with this dupe, not only is the colour near on exact, the price compared to a £9.50 Mac eyeshadow is so much cheaper. Natural Collection have many other shades so definitely try these out - Boot's usually have a 3 for £5 so look out for that! What's great about this makeup brand is you can experiment with colours and not completely spend a fortune!

What do you think of this dupe?
