Planning a wedding? ♡

Hello lovelies!

I wanted to start a wedding edition on my blog telling any of you brides-to-be the tips and tricks I've been learning along the way, as well as my personal ideas and thoughts. We are planning our wedding for the 17th of July, this year and I can't quite contain my excitement! So, without anymore blabbering on, here is my first chapter in planning a wedding.

Chapter 1 - Where do I start? ♡

We all know planning a wedding can be stressful on both the bride and groom, not only juggling quality services that don't break the bank but also trying to keep family members happy whilst still keeping the love you started out with alive.

There are so many options to consider, should we get married abroad, have a traditional wedding or just jet over to Las Vegas and get it over and done with. Which ever option you do choose though, should always have that fundamental reason behind it, you and your future husband/wife. Remember to never leave them out of the process. Most men say they don't mind what colours, themes and designs we choose, but getting there views on things will surprise them and keep them involved. It isn't just 'your' day, its both of yours.

I have compiled a list of 5 important things that I have tried to stick to that will help keep your 'big day' stress free and enjoyable, after all its meant to be one the happiest days of your life, lets keep it that way!

♡1 Before deciding anything else, discuss and confirm your budget.

You need to make sure you and your future husband/wife both know the budget. This way you won't be fighting over not being able to afford something a couple months into planning your wedding which will make less stress. There are so many easy ways to save money for example making your own wedding invitations and stationary. My soon to be mother-in-law and I are making them as she makes and sells her own. Look out for a blog post on them!

♡2 Buy, make or create a wedding folder to keep everything 'wedding' organised.

Keeping everything organised and in one place means you won't be running around like a headless chicken trying to find price quotes and cake maker's phone numbers. You can get binders which are simple folders that you can decorate yourself or you can go for the  wedding organisers which have everything in lists. I actually have both haha. I keep all my loose papers in the binder, and keep a track of everything in my organiser.

My mum got this from a local boutique near where we live but you can find similar ones in WHSmith, Paperchase etc. This is the organiser/diary and keeps everything organised - ie when the next instalment for the venue needs to be paid, dates of rehearsals etc. Its a handy little thing and it looks pretty too

♡3 Get inspiration and start creating a mood board.

You may have always dreamt of a certain themed wedding or may have no idea. I was in between both and still don't 100% know what my style is. This is why a mood board is really important and helpful, not only for you but for your florist, cake maker, venue decorator etc. Any florists or venue decorator that I have been to has always asked me to bring along any fabrics I'm using for bridesmaid dresses, colour themes and most of all some sort of mood board which captures the style of wedding that we want to have. This makes asking what you want from these services so much easier and saves time.

♡4 Start compiling a wedding checklist.

There are so many wedding checklists available on the Internet that cover everything you could possibly need for your wedding day. I have found though that you sometimes need to personalise your own, showing exactly who you are going to for that specific service, how much it is going to cost and when it has to be completed by. In my next issue of this wedding edition, I will include a printable version of a wedding checklist which I think will be really handy. I like to keep the checklist on me all the time just so I don't keep loads of paper with bits and bobs on them.

♡5 Sit down with your future husband/wife and chat about what you both want out of the wedding.

It's obvious that you both want to get married to each other, but amongst the hype of getting engaged, you may have had all these ideas being thrown at each other but haven't sat down, written it all out and made sure that both of you are happy and won't get to your wedding day and feel unhappy about something that wasn't discussed properly. Everyone likes to put their own ideas and opinions in which can be very helpful especially if they are married or know a lot about it, but make sure that for your day, you both decide on it. This should be an exciting, joyful time. There is alot to do before your 'big day' but relax. Unless you are getting married tomorrow and haven't organised a thing, still enjoy the time you have now as before you were engaged, I'm sure you had lots of time enjoying each others company.

I hope you have liked reading the first chapter of my Wedding Edition. In some parts, I sound like some sort of relationship advisor haha, but I'm only sharing personal experiences or ideas with you all and I hope it was helpful.

Motivational Monday #1

Hello lovelies!

I have seen Sprinkle Of Glitter do these 'Motivational Monday' posts for quite a while now and thought I would do them myself. These don't have to only be motivational for mondays and are just cute quotes that I would like to share with all my lovely followers.

This little quote really makes me want to go out right now and do all my favourite things all at once, but also just shows that we need to do more of makes us happy. That way, when we feel down or upset, we will still be doing all the things that make us happy.

This little guy has got to be the cutest and happiest little animal I've ever seen. He actually SMILES! Unless you really are the world's grumpiest person, there is no one that this picture couldn't make smile......So when you feel down, look at this photo and you will definitely feel 1% better....

Sorry about the short post today guys, been a very busy day and there are still loads of things that need to be done today haha....

Hope you are all having a great Monday.

Maybelline FIT me Foundation Review | Beauty

 Hello lovelies!

Today's post is going to be a review on Maybelline's FIT me Foundation. This hasn't been around in the UK for long, I use to only know about it because I would watch youtubers from America talk about it. I was pretty excited though when I saw it in Boots as I have almost used up my Chanel foundation, click here for that review (I was quite sad I had finished it as it was so expensive!).

Ok, enough rambling and onto the review.

Packaging

The foundation comes in a glass bottle with a pump and I have to say I really like it! It feels nice, it holds a lot of product and gives off a quality look without being on the expensive side. It comes with a black lid but like always I've lost that from lugging my makeup bag around with me everywhere :) It has a sleekness to it aswell as it doesn't try to overwhelm you with a funny shape or crazy colours, it literally is a glass bottle and a black pump which I like.

Coverage & Finish

The coverage is light to medium but you can build it up quite nicely. It covers spots and natural redness quite well and even my mum has mentioned how my skin looks when I'm wearing this :) The finish is standard to a normal foundation but definitely needs a powder, I've been using the FIT me powder too but it doesn't work that well. Sometimes it leaves me feeling quite greasy and some of the product easily builds up in one place so I have to use my hands to smooth it out. But I think with the right powder it could look and feel really good.

Formulation

The formulation is a smooth consistency, doesn't dry too quickly and isn't too thick which are all great aspects to look at when choosing a foundation.

 Apply

I use my real techniques buffing brush to apply this foundation and it usually distributes around my face rather well, its only the odd occasion that I need to go back over with my fingers to touch up. I use around 1 and half pumps of this and for me it's enough for the coverage and look that I want but I would be careful how much you do use as it looks like it could start to look cakey.

 Fading time

Every face is different but for me it doesn't last long and will usually start fading after a couple hours, it likes to 'slide' off my face. I don't know whether this is a common part of this foundation for others or whether is was only designed for a certain skin type but that is definitely one of the down sides to this foundation.

 Colour Range

The colour range is pretty good if you are inbetween dark and light but I found the very lightest shade which is 115 to not quite match my skin tone and leaves me looking a little bit orange. This means its harder to blend around the neck area, hence leaving me with foundation lines which is never a good look haha.

Where can you buy it from?

I bought this from Boots but anywhere that has a Maybelline counter such as Superdrug and even Tesco will stock it. When it first came out I think I got it for their opening deal but now the price is £7.99 and thinking about it, I would say this is a good deal for the foundation that you are getting.

Overall, I would give this a 3/5 stars as for a drugstore product is has all the key functions but as a long lasting performance its not as great. I would still purchase this foundation but only using for a specific event I'm going to as it gives a flawless finish when used with a good powder but doesn't stay long. For an everyday foundation I wouldn't buy it, but for the price, brand and coverage I would say buy it :)
Have you tried this foundation? Did you like it?

Please comment below telling me what you think of this foundation :)

A little bit about me...

I've realised that after putting out lots of blog posts about beauty products, I haven't really written much about myself, and from experience of the blogs that I read, I know that I like to read about lifestyles and things I can relate to. So here it goes ....

My full name is Ashleigh Ailsa Randall and I am 19 years old. My birthday is on the 26th of September but I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses so I don't celebrate my birthday. For me this isn't really a big deal, we celebrate so many other things and I am surrounded by such lovely people that I never feel like I'm missing out....(This does mean though that I will be 20 years old in under 5 months, what?! haha)

I have 2 families. I live with my mum, step dad and brother but also have a step brother from my step dad, another brother from my real dad (who I don't see much at the moment, but hopefully that will change soon :)) and my step mum is currently pregnant with another sibling for me, I've been told its a girl which will be nice.

I'm very close to my brother who I live with, his name is George, he's 16 so theres only 3 and half years between us. We have a lot of fun together when we both aren't busy but I would to spend more time with him.

I am engaged to an amazing guy called Max who loves me for me and we are getting married on the 17th of July and are having all of our friends and family and making a proper day of it. I'm really excited about it and cant wait! :D

I get very nervous and anxious when I have to go into a room, shop, house, meeting or anywhere that has more than a couple people in it. I don't have much confidence which probably sparks these anxious feelings but when I am around people who I know love me for the goofy, clumsy Ashleigh, I relax and completely come out of my shell. Its weird because I don't think I'm shy, just not confident with holding myself or sharing my opinion. My friends and family know though that I can be confident with them but even then I find it difficult.

A few quick things about me would be I have a cat called Peaches who I adore, my favourite colour is RED but I love pink also, I love reading but don't always get the time to get into a book, I used to play badminton and was pretty good, I like to snuggle and my favourite type of music is Trance and a bit of dance.

I know that most people reading this (if any) probably don't care about what I've written in this blog post but sometimes for me, this little section of the internet is my way of expressing myself. I'm very grateful for the life that I live, I love my family, friends and fiance alot and have people behind me who support me all the time.

I wouldn't change who I am for anything. I'm only 19, I don't know a whole lot about life but I've made my fair few mistakes and I hope I continue to grow in a good way.

Thankyou for reading this little post about me....

Burt's Bees Peach & Willowbark Deep Pore Scrub

Hello lovelies!

Today I am going to be reviewing the Burt's Bees Peach & Willowbark Deep Pore Scrub. I have had this product for a good few months and have been using it about 2 times a week, sometimes more depending on how my skin is cooperating!

You aren't meant to use exfoliating scrubs everyday as they can be too harsh on your skin so this is why 2 times a week for this product is great. You can add in a gentle face wash/cleanser for everyday use :)

I haven't used any other products from the Burt's Bees range apart from their lip treatments which I do really like but after trying this scrub, I will definitely check out their other products....

Ok, lets get into the review!

I've found that this scrub is on the thicker side for consistency and has little willowbark granules which you can see here from the photo. I didn't think I would like the gritty texture but it suprisingly makes you skin feel like it's being thoroughly washed. I sometimes get dry patches on around my noise area and forehead (lovely I know ;)) so this really helps to exfoliate away any dead skin.

The only downside to this product is when it's time to rinse it off your face.... The little granules get everywhere and I have to really take time to make sure they have all gone. I would definitely give yourself around 10-15 minutes from beginning to end with this scrub.
The formulation is 100% natural which caught my eye straight away. There's no nasty ingredients in there to clog up your pores. It also had flower extracts and natural oils which help your skin to balance out your own natural oils. So as you can imagine I was sold quite quickly!

You can get this from most places that sell skincare products such as Boots or Feelunique for around £8.50 which for a really good exfoliating scrub which is used 2 times a week, I think is a good price.

After using this my skin always feels squeaky clean and I can carry on with the rest of my routine.

Overall, I think this is a great drugstore product and would recommend using it!

I hope you enjoyed reading this mini review.... Have you tried it? What did you think?

Engagement Photo Shoot ♥

Hello lovelies!

Today I have some rather exciting photos to share with you as at the weekend, my fiance and I had our engagement photo shoot. Our photographer is Andy Smith, I will link all of his details down below.

The location we picked was at a really beautiful beach around 5 o'clock in the evening and the weather held off long enough for us to have our photos taken. The light was pretty good at this time and even without a sunset, the beach as our background still looked lovely...

I absolutely LOVE them! Max and I have a very strong 'chemistry', always laughing, enjoying each others company and I feel like our photographer really captured the moments perfectly. A few of the shots, especially the first one of this blog is a type of photo I would like on our wedding day. I don't know the exact name for it, but its an 'in motion' shot which really captures moments that posing can't get you.

I also really like the black and white photos that our photographer took and edited and I can't wait to have them in frames around our new flat/house after we're married.

Overall, I'm really impressed with our photos as we were only out for about 30 minutes and it was so cold!

What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments below...
