My Make-Up Story Tag

Hello everyone! So I came across the tag: My makeup story and thought it would be fun to do it but instead of all at once, I'm going to do it across 10 days :) so one question a day :D
Heres the first one ...

1. How old were you when you started wearing makeup?

I think I was about 14 when I first started experimenting with makeup, but from a very early age I remember watching my mum put on her makeup. I would always want to try it haha :) So at 14 I was interested in it but it wasn't until about a year and a half ago so about 16/17 that I properly started wearing it out and almost everyday which I think is quite a good age :)

Oh and I've made this my profile pic, just getting used to photography :)

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed :D

Revlon Lip Butters! - Review + Swatches

Hi beauties!

Today's blog is a rather exciting one! :D I have been reading and watching people in America for a few months now whilst they share how amazing the new Revlon Lip Butters are. I have wanted to get my hands on them from the first time I heard about them yet they hadnt launched in the UK until about 2 weeks ago and still that was only online. So, you can see how frustrating (in a good way) it was, but I finally got a chance to order them from boots and I picked up 4 shades :) Here's some photos ...

I think the variety in colours is great and I already know which 2 other colours I would like to also purchase - Tutti Frutti and Peach Parfait. The 4 colours/shades that I chose were - from left - right: Pink Truffle, Strawberry Shortcake, Lollipop and Candy Apple.

So far, my favourite shade is Strawberry Shortcake as its a everyday wearable colour and I think its a nice natural colour that suits my skintone. I can't wait to wear it this summer! Heres some swatches ---->

The formulation is really creamy and moisturising. The darker colours give high pigmentation as well as the lighter shades and glides onto the lips smoothly. After trying them for a while, I have to say I really really love them and are a great alternative to a lipstick mixed with a lip balm all in one!

Pink Truffle is a brown/mauve pinky colour and really defines your lips. I think it would look great on all skintones and love the colour :D
Strawberry Shortcake is my favourite out of all 4 that I picked up. The colour is a creamy, mute pink with a warm undertone. I think it is a really wearable shade and love it!
Lollipop is a bright pink fushia colour with purple/blue iridescent flecks/sparkly undertone. Haha wow that was a mouthful :P .. The colour though really is amazing, super pigmented and creamy.
Candy Apple is a bright creamy red colour and is the perfect formulation to put on without having to think or spend too much time applying... I like how you can build up the colour or just create a sheer tint to the lips.

I hope that anyone reading this, enjoyed reading and maybe got some ideas/inspiration to try these amazing lip butters. They really are just like butter on the lips ;)

ALSO I'm new to photography and getting the lighting right so bear with me, I think I did an ok job :D

Please leave any comments on your favourite shades!

Thankyou :)

Beauty Wishlist: March 2012

Hi guys!
As you can see from the blog title, I thought I would do my current Beauty Wishlist for March as I've seen a few around and liked the idea! :) I think I'll just get straight into it, I've got a few :D

1. Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronze Universal - This is a bronzing makeup base which has been around for a while and I'm sure anyone who loves beauty/makeup will have heard of it before. Priced at £29, I think its a tad expensive but 1) its Chanel, and 2) its quality worth paying for so I'm sure when I can justify spending that amount of money on one product I will love it! I think most of Chanel's makeup range is amazing and I already have and love the Vitalumiere Aqua foundation which is THE best lightweight foundation EVER!
2. OPI: Nicki Minaj Nail Polish Collection - These nail polishes are inspired by Nicki Minaj and I personally like the look of all the colours but in particular, Pink Friday. I love the colour because of the shade of pink but also because Mac have re-released a Lipstick called Pink Friday in the Viva Glam range which is also inspired by Nicki Minaj... How cool is that?! So. back to the nail polishes, I think all of these shades are wearable for different type of events and everyday living and can't wait to get my hands on them! (literally) haha see what I did there? :P

Left - Right: Fly, Did It On 'Em, Metallic 4 Life, Pink Friday, Save Me, Super Bass Shatter

3. Mac Viva Glam Nicki Minaj Lipstick in Pink Friday - So, Mac has re-released the colour, Pink Friday as a VIVA Glam lipstick inspired by Nicki Minaj! I think that this is a lovely shade and would look great in the summer with a tan. I think one of my summer must-haves is going to be both OPI's Pink Friday Nail Polish and this Pink Friday lipstick, how darling! :) super excited about this!

4. Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR - There has been a huge hype about these cream eyeshadows over in America and has taken ages for them to come over to the UK and I'm just waiting for them to release in my nearest Boots! I think my patience will be overthrown and I may just order them online. The one thing I did notice though, is the colour selection compared to the States. The have only released 7 shades and I particularly have my eye on Turquoise Fever, On and On Bronze and Eternal Silver. They are priced at £4.99 and are currently on a 3 for 2 deal at Boots!

5. Topshop Lash Catcher Mascara - This mascara is from the new 'Sisters of the New Moon' collection and after reading reviews and watching haul videos with great feedback, I have added this to my next shopping spree list :) I really like the thick, dramatic, 'false lashes' effect and love the Maybelline Falsies mascara and thought this new Topshop one looked like a product I'd like to try. I think its priced at £10 which is about inbetween high end and drugstore/high street. I'm looking forward to trying it!

Thankyou for reading! I hope that anyone who reads this has enjoyed it and I would love to hear what products are on your Beauty Wishlist! Let me know in the comments below :)
